The Official Guide to The Cottage at Rust Pond

Whether you approach from the north or south, follow the yellow lines on
the map.

Watch for "Through Traffic" signs along the winding dirt road,
so you don't drive into someone's driveway by mistake.
When you see this, you are close.
Here is a closeup of the rock garden.
Look closely! Your vacation is about to begin.
You may drive down the steep driveway to The Cottage, but you will have
to back up because there is too little room to turn around.
Please don't drive beyond the rocks. They protect the sewage system.
Once you get settled in, you can enjoy the lighted pathway from The Cottage
to the field.
There is even a light switch "up top" at the field.
When you arrive, you will find the kitchen door open...
and the keys on the dining table in the living room.
There are separate keys for each door.
The keys are in proper order on the key ring.
The first big key is for the kitchen door.
Next come the keys for the door off the porch and the two bedrooms.
The last little key is for the shed with the green doors.
Speaking of the kitchen, it is well-equipped.
Peek in all the cabinets and you will find what you need.
The can opener is on the wall to the left of the refrigerator.
Pass through the kitchen into the living room.
Lots of lamps, a couch, some rocking chairs, a fireplace, radio, TV and
VCR player.
Many nice decorations.
Don't let this guy startle you if you look up!
If it really gets chilly, this will help a lot.
If you lose someone, look out the window and check the hammock...
If you exit the living room, you can turn right into the bathroom with
shower...
or turn left and enter the screened-in porch.
The porch leads to the deck...
and the path from the deck leads to Rust Pond.
There is no picture of the path from the deck to the pond, but it starts
here

and leads to

at the water's edge.
The cushions are stored on the porch.
The path from the kitchen door leads to the canoe launching area.

You can paddle a few feet over to the dock.
Make sure you wear your
Would you believe they are also in the laundry room?
The ducks like the dock, too.
If the ducks would look over their right shoulders, they would see
(can ducks see colors?)
Sometimes a moose will float by The Cottage. No one knows why.

According to his sweat shirt, he had recently visited the Mount Washington
Gift Shop.
We don't know if he drove or took the Cog Railroad, but both ways are fun.
When it is time to call it a day, head for the Master Bedroom at the far
end of The Cottage...

or the bedroom next to the porch.
There are two twin beds.
The well has an electric pump instead of a bucket on a rope. This is good
news.
You can have a cookout with the BBQ.
(Guess where you will find it?)
and eat at the

The separate building with the green doors is the laundry room.
We know what is stored there.
There is a washer and a dryer.
Probably lots of detergent, too, so you won't have to buy any right away.
You will also find mops, brooms and the vacuum to clean up before you leave.
This fellow will watch over your laundry - don't let him startle you, either.
We hope you have enjoyed your tour.
